A film festival for kids and youth
NextScene Kids & Youth Film Festival is a space for children and young people (6–22) to watch, make, and share stories through film. We celebrate curiosity and many ways of seeing the world. With age-rated screenings, playful workshops, and open conversations, we help families, educators, and young creators connect and create.
What we believe and aim for
We believe every young person has a story worth telling. Our mission is to provide a safe, inclusive place to watch, make, and talk about films; grow skills and confidence; and connect with the wider community. Everything we do is designed to support young voices.
2025: Growing Through Imagination
Each year we choose a theme that shapes our films, activities, and atmosphere. This year, Growing Through Imagination invites audiences to look closer at ideas, feelings, and everyday moments—then re-shape them through film. We champion curiosity and courage: try, play, and share your view with others.
Nexa & Nexi
Meet Nexa, the Crocodile, and Nexi, the playful Kancil (mouse-deer). Nexa loves listening and catching new voices and ideas; Nexi is always on the move, chasing fun and fresh stories. Together they’ll guide families across NextScene—from screenings to workshops.
