Get answers to the most common questions about the NextScene Kids & Youth Film Festival. Learn how to join, where to go, age classifications, languages/subtitles, workshops, accessibility, and more—so you can make the most of your festival weekend in Jakarta, 22–24 August 2025.

NextScene runs 22–24 August 2025 at Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM), Jakarta. Venues: Teater Wahyu Sihombing; Bioskop Kineforum – Teater Asrul Sani; Bioskop Kineforum – Teater Sjuman Djaya; Ruang Latihan Seni Rupa.

Yes—tickets are free. Pick them up at the Kineforum box office or the Festival Booth at TIM. Capacity is limited; tickets are first-come, first-served.

Ask staff about a standby line. If seats become available, they may be released shortly before the start time at staff discretion.

Some workshops have smaller capacity and may require sign-up. Any requirements are shown on each listing. Please register early where indicated.

Use the Day 1 / Day 2 / Day 3 tabs. Each row shows time, venue, program, age classification, and the films (titles in italics). Workshops are listed with exact time blocks.

KidsScene 0+/All Ages (live dubbing) — suitable for very young audiences.
KidsScene 8+ — recommended for ages 6–12.
FutureScene & YouthScene — recommended 13+.
GlobalScene — international selections curated for family/teen audiences.

Yes. YouthScene A and YouthScene B are different selections on separate sessions.

A mix of Indonesian and international films. Subtitles are provided where needed. KidsScene 0+/All Ages uses live dubbing.

Please arrive 15 minutes early. Doors open shortly before each session; seating is limited.

Typical runtimes: KidsScene 0+ ~46 min, KidsScene 8+ ~48 min, FutureScene (Competition) ~80 min, GlobalScene Short Compilation ~80 min. Features vary by title—see the schedule for exact times.

Step-free routes are available to most spaces. If you need assistance or priority seating, please speak to our team at the venue desk.

Children under 6 may attend public events with a responsible adult. Guardians are fully responsible for supervision. In screenings or quiet zones, you may be asked to step out if disruption occurs.

Please do not record films. Set devices to silent and avoid flash in theaters.

No hot food inside theaters. Water in closed bottles is fine. Large bags and strollers may be stored where space allows—ask staff at the venue desk.

We follow a youth-safe standard: (1) Two-adult rule — no adult alone with a child; photo/video of minors only with written guardian consent. (2) Zero tolerance for harassment, discrimination, sexual comments or conduct, grooming, or sharing explicit content. Violations may lead to removal and, if needed, legal escalation.
